The Potter OSYSU-1 is an Outside Screw and Yoke (OS&Y) valve supervisory switch. It monitors the open position of an OS&Y gate valve in a fire sprinkler system. The OSYSU-1 has one set of SPDT (Form C) contacts. It is wired to the supervisory circuit of a fire alarm control panel.

The switch mounts on most OS&Y valves from 2″ to 12″ (50 mm to 300 mm), and on some valves as small as 1/2″ (12.5 mm). A three-position switch detects both tampering and valve closure.
